The Plan has now entered the independent examination stage. The appointed examiner has confirmed that all the required documents have been received, including the Plan, supporting evidence, environmental assessments and consultation responses.
As part of the examination, the examiner will carry out an independent site visit to Lambourn. This visit will be undertaken alone to ensure the process remains impartial, and the examiner has requested that he is not approached to discuss the Plan during his visit.
The examiner has indicated that the examination can currently proceed through written representations, without the need for a public hearing. However, a hearing may still be held if it becomes necessary to consider any issues in greater detail.
The examination is expected to take around six to eight weeks, although this could be extended if the examiner requests further clarification from the Parish Council or West Berkshire Council.
This is an important milestone for the Neighbourhood Development Plan. Once the examiner has issued their report, the recommendations will be considered before the Plan moves to the next stage of the process.
The Parish Council will continue to keep residents informed as further updates become available.
