Following a health and safety inspection of the equipment at the Skate Park in the Old Cricket field, at the last Full Council meeting, we had to agree to close and remove the skate park equipment.
This decision was made more difficult following the attendance of 13 local children who very eloquently conveyed how much the equipment in the park meant to them. All attending Parish Councillors later commented on how impressed they were with the time and effort put into the presentation.
Councillor Keith Middleton recently explained the decision to Chris Capel at Four Legs radio, click here to hear the interview.
The Parish Council had no choice but to remove the equipment but we pledged that we will undertake a public consultation process. This will allow ideas to be shared to help us understand the type of play equipment that local children would like to see in the park.
