An update from National Highways regarding upcoming closures on the M4 to carry out essential repairs to Welford Viaduct.
Closure information
- There’s currently a 3-way temporary traffic light underneath the viaduct on Rood Hill, which needs to remain in place for the duration of the work.
- The M4 will be closed westbound overnight (9pm-6am) between junction 13 and 14 on Tuesday 7, Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 November 2023.
Diversion information
- When Rood Hill is closed, drivers will be diverted via A338, B4000 through Wickham and High Street.
- When the motorway is closed, a fully signed diversion will be in place in both directions via A34, A4 Bath Road and A338
There will be more motorway closures in 2024 and National Highways will provide more information nearer the time.
