Acceptance of apologies for absence 

To receive and accept apologies of absence.

Schedule 12 of the Local Government Act 1972 requires a record to be kept of the members present and that this record form part of the minutes of the meeting. Members who cannot attend a meeting should tender apologies to the Parish Clerk as it is usual for the grounds upon which apologies are tendered also to be recorded. Under Section 85(1) of the Local Government Act1972, members present must decide whether the reason(s) for a member's absence are accepted.

Dog Waste Bin Contract

To consider if the Council should pursue seeking a new supplier to undertake the contract for the Emptying of the Dog Waste Bins due to the poor levels of service currently being provided by West Berkshire Council’s contractor.

Hall Desktop and Laptop Computers

To consider the proposal to upgrade the hall Laptops and one of the Hall Desktop computers. The current Desktop computers are no longer fit for purpose due to their age. While there are currently two Desktop computers, it is only necessary to replace one provided the current Laptops are also upgraded.

Maintenance of the Horse Tracks at the Old Cricket Field

Cllr Rieunier to advise the council of the results of recent enquires into the roles and responsibilities of the council and other parties in relation to the Horse Tracks and Salting Routes.

Salting Routes

To acknowledge a request from Mark Grant Racing to add Greenways to the salting routes.

The additional distance is approximately 0.5 Km.

 

To Note that the details of the distances of the additional Salting Routes were requested from West Berkshire Council. The response details the distances but does not indicate the specific locations/routes. Cllr Rieunier has requested more details to enable the council to determine if there are sufficient funds available to facilitate the addition of Greenways to the salting routes.

 

The deadline for the West Berkshire Council Winter Service Plan 2023/24 – Consultation is 15th August 2023 and hence, this request must be submitted by that date if it is to be included.

Mill Lane – Outdoor gym equipment Servicing

To approve the costs from “Fresh Air Fitness” for £358.00 + VAT to service the outdoor gym equipment at Mill Lane and provide us with two off touch-up paints so that we can treat paint scratches in between services. 

Fresh Air Fitness supplied the equipment (via Vitaplay) and they service it.
