You may have seen Thames Water trucks working along the valley recently.  We understand they are working to ensure rising ground water levels do not impact the sewer system.

Whilst the Parish Council has no control or authority over activities relating to the river Lambourn, we want to ensure that you are aware of the information recently issued by West Berkshire Council.

The GOV.UK website confirms that groundwater levels are higher than normal for this time of year and that the flood alert status in the Lambourn Valley is “Prepare”.

West Berkshire District Council have issued a useful leaflet that outlines who is responsible for reducing the risk of flooding and what you need to do to protect yourself and your property from flooding.  It also contains telephone numbers and websites, click here for the leaflet.

Groundwater levels continue to be monitored and an update to the GOV.UK website will be given on 22nd December 2023, or as the situation changes.”
