After a site visit, we have made the decision to put in 3 communal bulk bin collection points on Monday (15th) for collection on Tuesday (16th). As there is sewage in the water we hope to clear everything that is contaminated in the 1100 litre bulk bins that will be provided to prevent any build-up of waste. Unfortunately, we will not be collecting any garden waste currently however we will clear all excess garden waste from subscribers including Christmas trees once the flooding has subsided.

Due to a third section of the road potentially collapsing we do not want to continually bring in our vehicles, so we are going to bring in 1 rubbish truck and 1 food waste vehicle weekly and monitor the situation.

We have agreed on 3 collection points and the Village Warden has kindly helped us to understand and agree positions for them (please see map below).

Collection point 1 – 1100 litre bins for rubbish, contaminated recycling and food waste. A 240 litre Purple Food Waste bin for Non contaminated Food Waste. By the Bus Stop on Newbury Road near the junction UNNAMED ROAD FROM NEWBURY ROAD TO EASTBURY GRANGE.

Collection point 2 – 1100 litre bins for rubbish, contaminated recycling and food waste. By the Bridge to Back Road.

Collection point 3 – 1100 litre bins for rubbish, contaminated recycling and food waste. 240 litre Purple Food Waste bin for Non contaminated Food Waste is near Montague House

Garden waste and any uncontaminated recycling will be collected with excess when road is opened.

We will collect food and rubbish from – Downs Close, Station Road, Straight Lane, Hayfield Court and UNNAMED ROAD FROM NEWBURY ROAD TO EASTBURY GRANGE.

We will drop off some recycling and rubbish sacks when we deliver the bins in case anyone needs them to dispose of any contaminated waste.

Bulk bins and sacks will be delivered early on Monday morning to allow time for them to be filled before the collection on Tuesday.
